New Modules Available with Deltek Vision 4
Deltek Vision Visualization. Visualization is a revolutionary performance management tool that provides executives and managers with immediate insight into their entire project portfolio. By providing quick visual analysis of large amounts of project-related information, Visualization helps business owners discover otherwise invisible business patterns and risks.
Deltek Vision Mobile Application Suite. The Mobile Application Suite puts Vision at the fingertips of a mobile workforce that relies on laptops, smart phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and handheld devices. It lets you enter Timesheet and/or Expense Report data on your mobile device while disconnected from the Vision database then synchronize to Vision.
Deltek Vision 4 Feature Enhancements:
Service Estimating Tool. The new Service Estimating tool lets you generate a quick estimate of what it will take to complete a project, while the project is still in the opportunity phase of its lifecycle. Use the new Service Estimate tab of the Opportunity Info Centre to enter labour, expense, consultant, and/or unit cost estimates on-the-fly for an opportunity.
Summary Tables for Faster Reporting. Vision 4 introduces a new concept in reporting, aimed at dramatically decreasing the amount of time needed to run some of the most complex Vision reports, and the load these reports place on reporting and database servers. You can run the following reports using this new approach, which draws data from summary tables of data:

• Office Earnings

• Project Top-Bottom Performers
Billing Enhancements
• Generate invoices through batch billing without automatically printing those invoices at the same time.
• Generate a single report including all of your projects' invoices when you create draft invoices. This new functionality improves performance and enables you to send invoice information to reviewers (for example, project managers) in one e-mail, rather than sending a separate e-mail for each project.
Reporting Enhancements
• Opportunity Hit Rate List report. This new report makes it possible for you to review the "hit rate" for opportunities. You can use the report's options to limit the opportunities included in the hit rate calculation by specifying a date range, excluding inactive opportunities, limiting opportunity records by their award code, or excluding a specific opportunity stage, such as cancelled.
Planning Enhancements
• Resource Planning Utilization report. From the Resource Management application, you can use the new Resource Planning Utilization report to analyze how much of your employees' available time is utilized via their assignment to project plans. You can see both the overall utilization and the utilization ratio for the employees
• Multiple generic resources in Top-Down Plan budgets. The Top-Down Plan tab now allows you to enter multiple generic resources for each budget entry. When you select a row on the Top-Down Budget grid, the Generic Resources grid populates to display the generic resources assigned to that specific entry/row.
• Hot keys for Planning grids. The Labour, Expenses, Consultants, and Units Planning grids now include hot keys to perform basic word processing functions.
Process Server Enhancements
Additional process server jobs. You can now schedule Adjust Salaried Job Costing, Key Conversions, Key Formats, and Project Closeouts to run via the process server.
Auditing Enhancements
Control whether audit trails are maintained for specific applications. A new Audit Trail tab in Configuration, General, System Settings lets you choose which applications you want to enable audit trails for.

Ms. Perna is a 30- year veteran of IBM, the world's largest information technology company. Most recently, she served as the General manager of Information Management for the IBM Software Group. Under her leadership, IBM was named the worlwide leader in database management software, and Ms. Perna increased the group's revenue by more that 150 percent. She was also instrumental in IBM's decision to acquire the assets of Informix Software's database business in 2001, which doubled IBM's distributed database business. Ms. Perna has also held several senior positions within IBM's software development and IT management groups during her tenure.
Ms. Perna's business and technology leadership has earned her numerous honours and awards. In 2001, she was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame. She was also recognized by Information Week as one of America's "Top 10 Women in IT"
"With extensive experience working with a global technology leader, Janet Perna brings exceptional industry expertise, leadership and business acumen to Deltek's board of directors," said Kevin Parker, president and CEO of Deltek.
